San Francisco Track and Field Club – A good bunch of sprinters, jumpers, throwers and distance runners come and practice together on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. There are a few meets coming up and I am looking forward to competing with the team. I am also a Webmaster for the team and have been enjoying looking after the web site and Facebook Page. 2012 is its 30th anniversary.
Boston Marathon – My favorite marathon of all. Its prestige, history, organization, spectators and fellow runners make it such a fantastic event. I hope to run this race as long as I qualify. I also want to run another Major, London Marathon, but these two races are part only by one week, which makes it very difficult to run both.
New York City Marathon – Over 45,000 runners. Over 2 million spectators. Over 9,000 volunteers. They play New York, New York after the gun goes off. Who does not want to run it? I’ve always been wanting to run this, but getting in there has been tough. But I qualified this year. I will see in November whether this race is worth running every year.
Stockholm Marathon – Oh, Stockholm, my favorite city in the world. I tried last year, but I had to cancel it. I am not able to run the Stockholm Marathon this year, but will be running Jubilee Marathon Stockholm in July.
San Francisco FrontRunners – Named after the novel, Front Runners by Patricia Nell Warren, it is a founding chapter of FrontRunners, an international running group for the LGBT community. I try to make it to their run at least once a week. A fun group of people to go to a dinner and drinking with.
